Before designing anything, Shruti reviewed what published research says about art-based interventions for children.
The review
The review examined 16 peer-reviewed studies on art-based interventions and their potential applications for children with autism.
It identified common approaches, reported outcomes and practical considerations relevant to designing an intervention that could run in an ordinary school.
From findings to design
The findings were used to set the structure and objectives of the five activities in the toolkit, which were then tested at Swabodhini and Manjakkudi.
